I hooked it up (all required cables are included), and taraaa it worked. The switch comes with a remote control, which actually is a button connected to it with a long thin wire. Press the button to switch the lot from one PC to the other and press it again to switch back. Easy.

This switch was bought for use with Windows 7, as so many do not work with the latest Windows version. No such problems with Linux, you can use just about anything.

It works as advertised, with no installation issues.

The only downside and hence 4 stars, is the remote switch that you use to change computers is rather flimsy. Furthermore, all the cables are built into the switch, so if any fail, it’s probably going to be next to impossible to repair.

Do keep in mind, this is all USB, so you need a USB keyboard and mouse for it to work, along with available USB ports on your computers.

The laptop is in fact a mobile Workstation running high end CAD software. The monitor being used is a 26" Flat with a resolution of 1920 x 1200. Mouse/keyboard connectivity is by USB and for the video I have used the monitor and pc DVI ports with adapters.<br/><br/>I tried three different Belkin switches and they all had problems. On one the audio was not only bad but sometimes suddenly screeched out of the blue sufficient to get me off my chair - not a pleasant experience. The other two tried simply were not reliable. They either didn't switch when commanded (one had a wired remote, the other a wireless)or had problems with screen placement and resolution. The worse thing was resolution where I would have to switch back and forth between computers until the resolution sorted itself out and I could see the whole screen. Even when it did work, it would always take many seconds of beeping before the keyboard and mouse were recognised and started working. Sometimes as long as about 15 seconds or so. Very frustrating.<br/><br/>I spoke to a number of KVM suppliers including ATEN. They offered various alternatives including devices costing over £100 and more. Some had separate power supplies and had to have software installed. I didn't want any of that. I also wanted a remote switch as pressing a hot key is not so useful. In addition, most use the Scroll Lock key and my keyboards don't have one! I want to keep using my keyboard / mouse combo (Logitech MK300). They all said that wireless keyboards and mice were not recommended and especially a Combo. Anyway, I decided to forgo the audio and select a KVM without as having 2 sets of speakers was not a problem to me. I selected one of the cheapest KVM switches I could - this one - to give it a try.<br/><br/>It works perfectly! Even with my keyboard combo. No problems with resolution or video clarity. Reliable switching. Mouse and keyboard work within about 2 -3 seconds. Have been using it for a few days now.<br/><br/>All in all much better than stated on the tin. Although of course it isn't in a tin but it does say it's simple and it is! I have a laptop and a desktop, both running XP Pro. The laptop is in fact a mobile Workstation running high end CAD software. The monitor being used is a 26″ Flat with a resolution of 1920 x 1200. Mouse/keyboard connectivity is by USB and for the video I have used the monitor and pc DVI ports with adapters.

I tried three different Belkin switches and they all had problems. On one the audio was not only bad but sometimes suddenly screeched out of the blue sufficient to get me off my chair – not a pleasant experience. The other two tried simply were not reliable. They either didn’t switch when commanded (one had a wired remote, the other a wireless)or had problems with screen placement and resolution. The worse thing was resolution where I would have to switch back and forth between computers until the resolution sorted itself out and I could see the whole screen. Even when it did work, it would always take many seconds of beeping before the keyboard and mouse were recognised and started working. Sometimes as long as about 15 seconds or so. Very frustrating.

I spoke to a number of KVM suppliers including ATEN. They offered various alternatives including devices costing over £100 and more. Some had separate power supplies and had to have software installed. I didn’t want any of that. I also wanted a remote switch as pressing a hot key is not so useful. In addition, most use the Scroll Lock key and my keyboards don’t have one! I want to keep using my keyboard / mouse combo (Logitech MK300). They all said that wireless keyboards and mice were not recommended and especially a Combo. Anyway, I decided to forgo the audio and select a KVM without as having 2 sets of speakers was not a problem to me. I selected one of the cheapest KVM switches I could – this one – to give it a try.

It works perfectly! Even with my keyboard combo. No problems with resolution or video clarity. Reliable switching. Mouse and keyboard work within about 2 -3 seconds. Have been using it for a few days now.

All in all much better than stated on the tin. Although of course it isn’t in a tin but it does say it’s simple and it is! I would recommend.

I recently ordered this and upon arrival was very annoyed to see it didn’t come with mounting screws which are absolutely necessary. On top of that, it seemed to have a layer of grease or something that indicates it really can’t be new. The bar codes were only partly visible underneath permanent grime.

Contrary to the OTHER review, the antenna leads are absolutely CORRECT. Yes it is labelled 0,1,2 and yes there are three antenna leads but that is NORMAL. Most computers do well with leads 1 and 3 connected though some others respond better to 2 and 3. Look up how to install it, you will find this card is exactly the way it should be.

Despite it’s questionable origins, the card worked like a dream after installation

First of all, you can't install it properly, because it does not ship with any mounting screws. secondly, the antenna mounts are labelled as 0, 1, 2, when the cables are labelled 1, 2, 3. There are no instructions with this airport card at all. I'm yet to get this working. This airport card is not worth the trouble. First of all, you can’t install it properly, because it does not ship with any mounting screws. secondly, the antenna mounts are labelled as 0, 1, 2, when the cables are labelled 1, 2, 3. There are no instructions with this airport card at all. I’m yet to get this working. Don’t waste your money

An excellent quality piece of kit. Allows two hubs to be stacked giving 10 fixed ports and 4 temporary.

Would be 5 star but came with a continental rather than a UK power connection. Had to buy a shaver socket (60p from Wilkinsons), and replace the small 1 amp fuse with a similar 3 amp one.

If you are going to buy a hub buy this one the only issue I have is that Amazon dont tell you that it comes fitted with a 2 pin plug and I had to go and buy an adapter.

I have a laptop which I cannot use in every room in my house due to very thick walls. Our broadband reception is good near the router but fails to pick up the internet else where. Now I have purchased the Zoom4411 wireless adapter, what a difference this little piece of equipment has made, I now receive internet broadband all over the house. I throughly recommend any one with the same problems to invest in this product

I am writing this review having plugged this USB adapter into the back of my Windows 7 PC around 6 minutes ago. Windows found it straight away, installed the drivers, I entered my router's key and there you go. I've used many wireless USB's in my time and this by far is the easiest to use (hands down). No lie, from plugging in to getting online is about 30 seconds - depending on how long it takes you to type the key code. I can't speak for Windows XP and below as I don't have one here to try.<br/><br/>If you're looking for a great, cheap and easy to install wireless usb, and you are using Windows 7 (but only because I can't speak for Windows XP and below) then look no further. Wow what a bargain, 18 July 2010

I’ve never written an online review before, but considering how good this item is, I felt compelled to do so. I am writing this review having plugged this USB adapter into the back of my Windows 7 PC around 6 minutes ago. Windows found it straight away, installed the drivers, I entered my router’s key and there you go. I’ve used many wireless USB’s in my time and this by far is the easiest to use (hands down). No lie, from plugging in to getting online is about 30 seconds – depending on how long it takes you to type the key code. I can’t speak for Windows XP and below as I don’t have one here to try.

If you’re looking for a great, cheap and easy to install wireless usb, and you are using Windows 7 (but only because I can’t speak for Windows XP and below) then look no further. Well done Zoom!!
